Privacy policy

What we collect when you write to us.

When you send a question or a sponsorship application, we receive your name, email address, phone number if you add one, your message and the page you sent it from. We use these details only to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation. We do not sell them.

What we collect when you read the site.

Our web server keeps standard access logs, which record the address of your device, the page you asked for and your browser type. We use them to keep the site secure and working. Optional visit counting and advertising run only after you allow them in your cookie choices.

Advertising.

With your permission, Google AdSense shows ads inside some guides. Google may then use cookies to measure and personalise those ads. Read how Google uses advertising cookies. If you choose necessary cookies only, no AdSense code loads.

Videos.

Guide videos are hosted on YouTube. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. The player then loads from youtube-nocookie.com under Google's privacy policy.

Your choices.

You can change your cookie choices at any time with the Cookie choices button in the footer. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we keep advertising and visit counting off. To see, correct or delete a message you sent us, use the Ask a question form and tell us what you need.

Changes to this policy.

When this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page and ask for your cookie choices again if the change affects them.
