Making an upper package tray cover on the Mustang Fastback 71 72 73. Thanks to Don at Ohio Mustang Supply, I was able to snag an old upper package tray metal cover to make a template for my new upholstered tray cover. This was a simple process that was fairly easy to do and makes a big difference when you look into the rearview mirror. I made a template with Don’s metal OEM tray out of fiber board. This stuff is very cheap at Home Depot ($9.00 for a 4′x8′ sheet). I made 2 pieces as shown in the photos and used the brackets to create my angle. I then upholstered the tray and covered it in vinyl. For an extra vintage personal touch, I added the MUSTANG lettering from CJ’s for approx $17. Check it out.
